Lillipad Electric Floor to Stand Desk — Fully Assembled

I know sometimes it's hit or miss with customer service for these smaller shops doing furniture sales. But the Lillipad team has been awesome. I mistakenly purchased the smaller version, and threw away the box. But instead of telling me that I was no longer eligible for a return, the team me the larger desk and extra packing material so that I could properly return.

The team is also extremely responsive. I sent along my request, and they responded within 24 hours.

Really appreciate this team!

Lillipad Review

This is a unique product and I highly recommend.

Pros:
The Lillipad goes down to 6” and the competitors (Uppeal) only go down to 15”. This is a big deal because if you want to sit directly on the floor 15” is too high. To sit cross legged or on my bottom I need the desk to be 10” to be ergonomic.

Portability is huge. We want to convert my office into a guest room. No problem. I put the desk in my room for a few days.

Cons:
- The product says it can’t support any weight below the 13.5” mark. I still go below this without any problems with a 32” monitor and laptops on my desk. I’d like to know what the actual limit is here.

- Annoying governing controls (biggest con):

Desk lock: When you are sitting on the floor the desk needs constant adjustments to allow different positions and to stay ergonomic. Unfortunately, you have to press and hold the unlock button for a solid couple of seconds before you can make any height change. This gets really annoying.

“Safety feature”: To go below 13.5” (which I do frequently) you have to press unlock (like above) and then press two buttons three times before it allows you to go down.

Presets: On my Autonomous desk I can press a preset and the desk automatically goes there. On the Lillipad you have to sit there and hold the button the whole time. Annoying.

I wish all these governing controls were not on there, or at least had the option to turn them off. There is nothing under my desk and I’m happy to accept the consequences of forgetting something. Isn’t there automatic object detection? Free the machine!!!

Other thoughts:
For the price pro model add very little value. I didn’t buy it for these reasons.
- I used velcro sticky tabs to mount a power strip on the base model. Cable tray is not needed with some sticky velcro. Very easy.
- The monitor arms in the pro model can’t be adjusted up and down without changing the stem. To be ergonomic the monitor height has to constantly changed depending on your position. The fact that this monitor stand can’t do that for $100 is a bit of a rip-off. For $30 I bought the NB North Bayou monitor and it’s adjustable vertically from a sitting position. I feel Lilliepad can do better here.

Feels sturdy and reliable. I don’t think about it during the day, because I need to focus on my work not how my desk is in the way. Outside of some minor supply chain delays, the experience has been a good one. Thank you.

I love love my desk. I never understood the hype of a standing desk until I bought one. It has made working so much more enjoyable about and my body doesn’t feel as stiff anymore. This desk was worth every penny!

I am so glad I finally decided to buy the Lillipad after MONTHS, maybe a year, of looking it up online and deciding if I *really* needed it. I already had a sit to standing desk and I sat on the floor at my coffee table. Well, now I have it at the perfect height for me on the floor with my little yoga cushion OR I can now sit in my huge circular chair and be super comfy with my desk at the right height! My other desk couldn't go low enough for that chair - so now I have multiple options. Also, I am 5'4" and it felt like my other desk still wasn't low enough with a regular chair for my feet to touch the ground comfortable. I am so happy I have so many options for sitting now with different heights below the standards!
